Chandler Pond is a natural environment located within walking distance from the Winship School. We've worked hard to integrate trips to this pond into our science curriculum at each grade level. This exciting and unique learning opportunity allows our students to take science "out of the classroom" and apply what they know in a "real world" environment. Below you'll find some pictures of our students and teachers at work.
Winship Teachers study Pond Life
5th grade students study Ecosystems
Older and younger students gather to share their observations
Students bring objects from the pond back to school in order to answer their own questions through research.
